Sure, cuz you're gonna get some on the tiles too. You might also want to apply to all the tiles.

What kind of sealant goes with what kind of tile?

Most sealants will work with most tiles, but you would need to read the fine print on the sealant can to see if it is safe for your tile. I believe your biggest concern is if your tile is glazed or not.
