Same news here. Pennsylvania is shut down. The university is going online only. 81 professors never used online classes and that amounts to 460 classes that needed to be created online. And our team did it!

I'm part of the IT Help Desk crew. We took our Cisco phones home with a box to power the phones and we got online including the special call center systems. Next week online classes start for some. The rest will go online the week after. Now I really wish retirement was this year instead of 3 years later!

Then again, to quote one of my long ago heroes: Failure is not an option. Millersville, we got this!

I'm so glad I didn't get rid of this huge computer desk. Bought it in the late 80's when CRT's were the norm. At some point though got to put the tower on the floor if we're going to do this for very long.

Going to mow the lawn today. First of the season. Got the new Gator blades for my 46 inch Cub Cadet. All sharp and ready! Lawn looks so much better than last year. Funny, all Summer was renovating the inside. All Fall was renovating the outside, repairing the lawn that was 50% dead.

And to quote an long lost astronomer named Jack Horkheimer from the University of Florida, "Keep Looking Up!"

Stay safe. Stay healthy my friends!

At Missouri Southern, they gave the teachers a week to figure out how to convert art classes to on-line. Some are lost.

Gonna work today because tomorrow it's going to rain.
Worked yesterday too. Need to get cutting done outdoors do no real choice. I'm installing LVP in a small kitchen and dining room.
Problem is the customers pampering me with chit chat and lunches... I'm enjoying the job and they love the change from slippery porcelain tile to a realistic wood plank.
The fella has worked on boats his entire life and his dad did too. Chris has written a handful of books, one documenting his father's life on the water, beginning during WWII. His father brought the Queen Mary to Long Beach in '67. He mostly piloted tug boats towing barges up and down the west coast and also all over the world. Chris has also. Chris is around 70 and just a few weeks ago he tried a barge a couple hundred miles south of here.... so he's not retired yet.
A couple years ago he gave me a copy of the book about his father. A couple days ago he gave me a book about his son's life. His son worked on tug boats too, but was also a volunteer firefighter. His son was killed fighting a fire here at an auto/truck parts store in 2002. Very tragic event. Two other firefighters died in the blaze. I was working near by that day and stopped by the scene after work. I could tell by the dazed look on the firefighters faces something really bad had happened.
Hundred of firetrucks came from all over the state to honor the the firefighters.

Looked up last night and the night before to watch ISS pass over. Both passes approaching 90 degrees.

New Zealand shut down tomorrow for 4 weeks except essential services
What to do with everything shut?
What surprises me Takeaway operations must shut. Last night we ordered pizzas over the puter paying with bank card. Man dropped everything off at the steps with no contact with anybody. Not allowed any more
We still have 8 days which we have to stay home due to our trip to Australia
Most of our cases are due to overseas travel with just two people which cant be tied into overseas travel

I'm just thinking
...we're all going to die. ...not today, but some day 5, 10, 20 years or so. For now we just have to deal with the mess. Hopefully we will find out on a few weeks if this pita social distancing works.
Called my aunt this morning. She lives in Arizona in a retirement facility. She loves socializing, watching plays, concerts etc .
She's on lockdown...sort of. She's got a fantastic attitude, so she'll be fine. They are asking people to stay home.
Dinners will now need served on n rooms instead of at the dining room. Place she is at has 700 residents.

My brother didn't even thank me for cleaning the kitchen & claimed he'd planned to do it but I beat him to it. Yeah, right. And I just saw a pig flying by with pegasus wings.
My mother didn't even notice that I'd cleaned up. She kept asking my brother if he'd cleaned and when he was going to clean. I don't know how she didn't notice, but she's always been the type to notice what hasn't been done. I could have everything else spotless and have one little stain & she'd focus on that.
Brother has already junked up the sink & counter. I'm too tired & feeling cruddy to mess with it just yet.
It's been raining so it makes me sleepy & internet kept going out so I ended up playing Sims4 most of the day.
Governor has ordered people to stay inside for the most part unless it's for something essential. My friend's grandfather stopped going out as much but he found a new way to harass my friend. My friend couldn't answer bc his phone battery died or he was busy working on stuff but the grandfather wouldn't stop calling. Because my friend wasn't answering, the geezer called the cops & sent them out to order my friend to call him back. Sent them 3x already (that I know of). I think it's wasting police time and it should constitute harassment. My friend doesn't need the aggravation. The old man needs to hire someone to look after him and leave my friend alone.
Other than feeling bleh from allergies, we're doing ok. Brother has swollen tonsils & a sore throat. Mom has allergies too but no fever & she's feeling ok. I've got a mild sinus headache so I'll probably have to get some sinus allergy meds next time I hit the store.
Can't seem to find the dog food my dogs eat in stock anywhere so that is frustrating. I had to get a different kind & I hope they are ok with it.

When it rains it pours. I got shoulder surgery scheduled for April 7, still going ????, back surgery is on hold until healed up from the shoulder, and now today with my eye exam I found out I have a catarack that is ready to be removed, scheduled for My 14th. This getting old shit really really sucks. Then on top of it my wifes pacemaker battery is starting to get low and that will have to be replced, over night in the hospital, not a good time for that.

Our local Carpet One dealer closed it's doors today. Governoris wants all 'non essential' businesses to shutter their doors. Hotel and motel visitors and tourists have been told to go back where they came from.
Driving through town tonight, there isn't a business open, nor a car parked on the street... Highway 101 is the street through town.

Surgery sounds scary with the virus spreading like it is. Dentists here shut down.
...you wouldn't want a dentist working on your shoulder anyway. 😁

Today is the 11th anniversary of my father's death so it's been a bit emotional for me. It's not helping the mucus build up from what I hope is allergies or just a cold. Been light-headed, tired, coughing, etc. No fever, but I feel like garbage. I don't spend much time around people so I'm hoping I didn't pick up a virus from Walmart. There have now been 4 confirmed cases if Covid-19 in my town. Two were inmates from the local federal prison. That means it's at the local hospital now & those people do not know how to quarantine or even keep the place cleaned properly to begin with.
One of my unlucky friends (the one who had his house burn down just before Xmas) jut found out that his exgf (and mother of his children) tested positive for Covid-19. Fortunately, he has the kids but I hope they aren't carrying it. My friend's current girlfriend is in very poor health already. They are staying at my best friend's house right now & his fiance is a hypochondriac so she would have a panic attack about it. She's already stressed out over having people in her home who are causing drama.

Argued with Mom about her wanting me to go to the store twice this week instead of letting me make 1 trip. She forgot to tell me before I went to the store last time that she had an RX to pick up and now she has another one that is ready. She was insisting that I had to go today but my RX won't be ready until tomorrow so I told her it should wait. She had a bit of a tantrum over it, but had no logical reason for me to make 2 trips.

I was reading a post from a pregnant woman who tested positive for Covid-19. She never developed a fever. She reported the symptoms over the week and how she felt better then worse then better then worse & they kept refusing to test her and finally she was worse & they tested her (only tested her bc of her pregnancy and to rule it out).

Hoping I'll be feeling better tomorrow & have some energy. I've been amused by some of my sister's posts at least. She's working from home so she is referring to her cats as her co-workers & posts pics of them with comments like "My co-worker didn't want to drink her own water so she stuck her face in my cup to drink mine" with a pic of her cat drinking her water. Another was about her co-worker wanting to know when lunch was with a pic of her cat on the bar chair looking at the kitchen island. One of her posts was about wearing two different sets of pajamas (one for night and one for work) so one of my aunts piped in that out grandmother used to wear her pajamas all day and then change into regular clothes just before grandpa got home from work. I can picture her doing that so it made me smile.

I have some friends who are stir crazy about having to stay in and not socialize in groups. It makes me glad I've always been somewhat of a homebody & don't like to be in large groups & don't feel a constant need to be around people. I'm happy in my room with my cats. I can get my socializing needs taken care of via internet & that's how it's been for many years. I'm ok with a gathering from time to time, but they always made me feel drained. The biggest problem I'm having with all this virus stuff is that stuff I need to buy is out of stock.
