So on my fairly new desktop (running 8.1) I stupidly selected update and shut down instead of sleep which I never do. Next thing I know it's telling me updates did not take, again and again and again with then black screen, some memory function had issues as well. Took me three days to bring it back to life by unplugging it several times. Wow, I hate confusers sometimes.
