A friend came over tonight and was talking about a new type of flooring called Easy Lay. It is about 3/8" thick, 12" wide, and 4' in length. He said it was flexible, but not a vinyl. It butts end to end,and can either be laid dry or glued down. He is interested in it for his basement. Can anyone tell me more about it, and any pros or cons with it?

Great stuff! This is luxury vinyl flooring and comes in 25 colors. Here is a link to their website: http://ezlayflooring.com/vinyl-flooring-products/

Here is a brief on their product...

EZLAY SPECIFICATIONS

There are 25 colours available - 17 planks and 8 tiles
(Planks are 7" x 48" and the tiles are 12"x 24")
Can be laid over any flat and dry surface: concrete, tile, lino, hardwood and plywood.
Can be installed over radiant heat (but must be glued down)

Double sided tape or glue around perimeter of room
Use a utility knife to cut planks, or table saw/vinyl cutter for larger installations
Suitable for heavy-duty commercial and residential applications
Warranty: Lifetime residential / 15-Year commercial

This stuff is soooo much better than laminate and so much easier and cleaner to install. Shaw makes a great LVF too!
