Engineered wood is the most common used now. In these styles it has been very beneficial in more humid climates. Wood manufacturers have started to use the HDF core instead of the plywood layers. Although it is just as sturdy and strong it has shown to have problems in moisture issues. (ie. dropping of drinks and etc.) We are still bigger fans of the long term wear of this build.

Is anyone having a different response from the core board backing on hardwoods?
