Help! Oil based poly or water based??

We are looking to refinish our floors. They are in poor condition and have next to no finish left on them. When we bought the house this was the condition they were in. Fast foward to now, we are finally going to refinish them. We want something that will hold up to small children and pets.

Water based sounds great it drys fast and doesn't have that smell. but does it hold up and have the same wow effect? Please any help is greatly appreciated!!

I really impressed with the new oil hybrid finishes such as Pallmann's Magic oil or Loba's Impact Oil. There are others out there also.
