It's a two party system. One system owned by the same financial corporations but they have a donkey and an elephant, red and blue............SOME nonsensical BS to confuse the populace as if they were rooting for some stupid high school football team.

VOTING implies you support this perverse system. I doubt I'll ever vote again.

My platform will be to cut programs and combine duplicate programs to make the government smaller.
....and razor wire on the fences at borders. Those that make it over will be bussed back home without due process. How'm I doin?
 
The democrats want to increase spending on social programs and cut taxes. The republicans want to cut spending on social programs and cut taxes.

Both will compromise and get what they want - increased spending on social programs and cut taxes. Everybody will be happy! :D
 
If you increase spending on social programs........ everyone will be on them, instead of just most of them. ............which is the ultimate goal.
 
Pretty much everyone is already on them. Ever heard of social security? The government built the roads we drive on. Isn't that a social program? How about the REA?

I think both parties believe they're right, and to a certain extent they are. And they're both wrong and delusional.

I agree, people blast socialism. What do they think the public library, school system. police dept., fire dept., etc. are? Anything that everyone pays for but only some use is socialism.
 
And that is, I think, the core of the problem. People react to FUD without really thinking about the causes and effects. They're told socialism is bad, yet they really don't understand what it even is.

It's so much easier to just categorize things into groups. Muslum=terrorist liberal=socialist russian=enemy black=gang banger gay=sinner
The real world is way more complicated than that. However many of our politicians gladly feed those misconceptions to further their own agenda.

I vote in all elections. What good does it really do at the national level? All the candidates are decided for us and the differences are minor at best.

We seem to be in a world where nearly everyone is interested in power, money, and little else. If there were 100 buttons spread throughout the world that if one were pressed the presser would get a million dollars and 5billion people disappeared how long would it take? We'd be looking at minutes.
