    California installation rates

So I am a new flooring contractor in California. I've always been an employee. Never really paid attention to the prices that people were charging that I worked for. I just collected my paycheck on Fridays and that was it. So now that I'm on the other side of things, I've been bidding jobs and...

    RedGard for crack prevention

So he wants me to spread it on the entire 120 sq ft "just in case" if the slab were to crack. Is that ok to do?

    RedGard for crack prevention

I'm doing a tile floor and the homeowner wants a crack prevention membrane put down. Will RedGard work good for that and what's the best way to apply it? It's about 120 ft.² floor over a concrete slab.

    Dust extraction

So I went scavenger hunting around my house and found some vacuum parts that actually fit and work out pretty well! I'm always quick to think that I have to go out and buy parts before I check out what I have around the house. Glad I checked first this time. Now I feel dumb that I even posted...

    Dust extraction

The Bosch came with a fleece filter bag and a HEPA pleated filter. I figure I might just have to MacGyver something. Thanks

    Dust extraction

I'll be using it at job sites when grinding thinset after tearing out tile. I heard it was good to connect the deputy to the extractor vacuum to extend the life of the vac and filter especially HEPA filters and that's what's on my Bosch vacuum. Just trying to keep dust down as much as possible...

    Dust extraction

Does anyone have a Bosch 9 or 14 gallon dust extractor hooked up to a dust deputy? I'm having a hard time finding the right size hoses to connect the dust deputy to the vacuum and wondering what any of you have done or recommendations what I can do. I'm probably making it harder than what it...

    It's complicated...or maybe it's not?

Ok here it goes. My sister has tile all throughout her house except for the bedrooms and living room where she has carpet. Her dogs are tearing up the carpet in some of the rooms so she wants me to put in new lvp floor in the whole house but she doesn't want the mess and the bill that comes with...

    LVP over tile floor prep

Awesome thank you. I figured I wouldn't have any issues with a rigid core product but I just wanted to get a second opinion. This is gonna save me about a days worth of work not having to do that.

    LVP over tile floor prep

I have a customer that wants to put 9 inch wide stone core vinyl plank flooring directly over their tile. The tile that I'd be going over is square edge, about 6x18 wood look porcelain, on a 1/3 tile pattern, with 3/16 grout joints. Should I skim coat the floor or am I good to go to install...

    California contract signing process

Hello everyone! I'm looking for help... especially from installers in California. So I just got my contractors license and I went on a bid and they accepted my quote. So now is the contract signing. I'm not sure of the process. My contracts have the 3/5 day right to cancel, 3/5 day cancellation...
