We recently decided to buy a nicer house near the foothills in Upland, Ca. We saw an open house sign in the area today, and saw a new construction house surrounded by homes that were about 20 years old. This home was 2200 square feet, and the asking price was $749,999.
The floors were beautiful. They were 36" long ceramic plank tiles, set in a great random pattern. What shocked me was the fact that the installer failed to undercut any of the door jambs, and rather used a pair of nipping shears as it went around all the casings and jambs.
I tried to be silent as I looked at the horrible installation, but the Realtor wanted to know what i was looking at. His only comment was that it appeared this was the new way to install plank flooring. I say BS.
