I got an antique carpet tool in the mail today and it has the manufactors name and address on it. I'm thinking the tool was made in the 1880-90's. Is there a way to find out when they were in business?

No number yet. But in the 500 + patent numbers I do have don't make mention of who manufactered it, just the inventor and how it works >

Maybe that partnership has information???

May find them in the state newspaper archives, city/county/state records.

But so many of the old court houses and such burned down, hard to tell.if you can.
