Hi all. Being forced to have to exercise on the floor, I noticed some areas of my hardwood floors that are worn. But is it just wear or maybe termite damage ?? Input is appreciated.

Hard to tell. Do I see tiny round holes? Powder post beatles leave perfectly round holes in wood. Looks like the wood was poked with a needle.
The other deep places might be just wear or a board that wasn't all that good when it was installed.

Thanks for the reply. There’s the one picture you can see the wood is in good shape (under area rug) and then is worn further along.

If it was termite I would think those boards would be very soft. Termites destroy the structure of the wood. See if you can poke sometrhing very sharp pointed into an out of the way area to see if the wood is hard. Store I worked at had termites and the boss went through the floor. Also termites like where it is sandy.

The image that ends with 505D is the one where i noticed the tiny holes. Looks like powder post beatle holes. If so, they may have been in the wood when it was installed and not a problem. That said, it might be worth looking closely for other holes like that elseware in the floor and other woodwork in the house. They are tiny.
