I installed 44 yds of Black 60 oz long shag in a LR today. Can't remember the last time I installed black carpet or long shag. Took this old man 6 hours.

44 yds is 2 days for me and I'm fast but the body is slow and have a weak mind.

I never do more than that in a day. I work about the same # of hours you did. ............ you're fine. I can't remember doing any black shag............. and I'm tryin to remember ever going any black anything. Seams must be fun.

You would think being a shag it would be easy to seam. but it wasn't.

Did you row cut it or straight edge it?
Straight edge. No way to row cut. It was so thick that it was hard to see when the backing was together.

We are seeing tons of friezes and shags, must be some sort of homage to the '70s. The shop has area rugs made out of strips of leather in a shag effect; every time I walk by them I wonder how the heck they can be vacuumed. That black shag musta been fun.
This job reminded me why I'm semi-retired. Feel like I been run over by a semi.
