Best replacement for Acrobat Reader's latest 4TB version.

OK, maybe not quite 4TB, but it's huge.
What's a good free substitute Reader program? My Acrobat 8 Professional is now giving me a 5 day notice.
I need to replace it with something so I can view PDF files.

Open Office . Has the same programs as office , and it is free . Opens PDF files .

Confusing. The reader doesn't expire, unless things have changed. They do come up with new versions, usually bigger and more cumbersome than previous ones.
I stopped using Adobe reader years ago in lieu of Foxit, which is much better, IMHO. Problem today is those who now download it must carefully watch and uncheck any extras bundled with it.

I moved from Adobe to Foxit a few years ago. Got tired of the huge Adobe downloads. No user complaints yet.

I was viewing my bank records last night abd got this warning from Adobe................ I clicked on the link to "re-activate" but it wouldn't work and I was asked to do it with a phone call. The computer was given to me so in a phone call, I probably wouldn't have the information they would want.
If they wanted to download an update, it might take me light years using dialup.

This warning was why I asked about a different viewer.

I can still take the computer to a friends place to download Adobe whatever.
