Click-lock hardwood over vinyl?

Hi. I'm planning to install click-lock engineered hardwood over slab. It will extend over several areas that are currently either carpet or sheet vinyl. We have started to pull up the carpet, padding, and tack strips from the carpeted areas. If the areas with sheet vinyl are in good condition, should we consider leaving them in place? And if so, would the vinyl serve as an underlayment, or should an underlayment still be placed on top of the vinyl?

I'd like the room to be as seamless as possible. Will the added height of the sheet vinyl demand transition strips?

feather down the transition with some levelor, use the underlayment (as well as some vapor barrier) over the vinyl.

Don't go over loose layed or perimeter glued vinyl.
