I don't like it either. Just like the red light cameras. There was a woman in KC who got a ticket for running a red light and she was in a funeral procession, to fight it meant hiring an attorney.

Oregon is in the planning stages of using GPS, and or using cell phones as tracking devices to implement a new gas tax system based on how much you drive. They say these electric and hybrid cars are getting such good mileage, they aren't paying their fair share of the gas tax which funds road building and repairs.
GPS would tell when you go out of state, so at that point, the mileage driven in other states won't count against you.
Now isn't that special!

I don't think state gas tax has risen for a decade........ why not up the gas tax two or three cents instead of creating a new state car tracking department which will cost millions more to operate? Idiots.......... even this dumb ol rug layer knows a better way to fix the problem.

What are you thoughts to drones being used in America for whatever reason?
To me we are one step closer to losing our freedoms. Pretty expensive piece of equipment for a traffic ticket I thinks.

Daris

I think it's only gonna get used for ticketing people who sunbath nekid in their own back yards.
Pleease, tell me we aren't gonna see you in court, Daris.

Why not just send our pay checks to them and they can send us an allowence. We need to fire everyone in congress, and the senate and start all over.

Are you for hire?
.....I have a local bank with really lax security measures that is a long ways from police headquarters, close to the highway, and they might be available to chip in a large contribution to the Nick for Homeland Rationality Tzar campaign. :D
How much ya need?

They won't catch me but they might Jon. I saw on the net this morning that there was a nudist colony for sale in New Zealand. Maybe he's going to put a bid in on it.

Several years ago this state spent millions of dollars running television and radio ads encouraging drivers to slow down and save fuel, ride a bicycle or walk when you could, do everything you could to conserve gasoline.

Well...after a couple of years of that chit, THEN, the state government began whining because gasoline taxes had dropped and they were experiencing a shortfall. Duh-h-h-h! So they promptly raised taxes on gasoline to make up for the shortfall they caused to begin with.

I'm tellin' ya's...we are all in a world of chit if we don't do something about all of this government stupidity and waste of tax dollars.

The city of Tucson did the same thing with water here, "Beat The Peak" and conserve water. When everyone did, they had to raise the water rates. But really, the city of Tucson is so mis managed that they use water revenue to pay for their idiocy.

At least you don't have state appointed city mangers to take over the city like we do in Flint and aa few other cities in Michigan. Contracts to them don't mean a thing, their word is gospel, the city is run how they want it to be. The cities are so far in the red, I guess something has to be done.

Started here back in the early 70's when Pacific Power and Light asked people to not waste power for things such as Christmas lights, continued when uncle Jimmy asked us to set our thermostats to 65 degrees.
As for Pacific Power, they were concerned about needing to build another power plant............ If everyone conserved, an new one wouldn't need to be constructed.
Everyone obeyed, saved em from from building another plant.
Revenue of course went down, so rates went up.

Remember when diesel fuel was cheap because it is cheap to produce?
It's still cheap to produce, but since they got everyone buying the more expensive diesel rigs because of their fuel mileage..... they decided it wasn't fair that diesel owners were going a lot farther on a gallon of fuel, so they raised the price.

We have a natural gas pipeline here now............ it's cheaper than electricity for heating................ Once they get 25% of the community to buy a new heating system and get hooked up, guess what's gonna happen?

Kinda like trying to find a faster way though town by avoiding stop lights................... Ya get stop signs instead.

How 'bout signing up for cable, internet, and phone for $39.95 with free movie channels for the first 6 months............ after 6 months it's gonna cost another $120

Fellas, ya can't win, so stop tryin to think you can.

..............unless we vote for Nick! :D
