Would you believe they showed HD carrying it . went there today , they never heard of it . sent a e mail to them .

Laying laminate flooring is at the top of my "soon as I can afford it" list. There's only one person I know who has laid his own. He didn't mention laying a pad under it. Is the padding the same as carpet padding, if not what's different about it and what thickness is best to use?

Some of the Lams today come with the pad attached . I don't care for them . the pad is much thinner then carpet pad . Get a good dense one .
Follow the Manufacturer directions to the T .

I have to second Scott on sound solutions. I use it for wood floaters as well.

Called them today for a dist in my area . HD only carry's the cpt pad . The dist don't have it . told me to try Pro Source .

The only product I have used for the past few years is Floor muffler. For something so lightweight, I don't know why it deadens sound so well.
