I have a dilema. My house is only 5 years old. I have real hand scraped wood floors. I made the mistake of using a mixture of vinegar and water to clean it which was dumb. Can I put a coat of polyurethane on it without sanding. I don't have the funds to have it done and need to do it myself. Does it matter whether it was water based or oil based used on it originally. I also used Bona polish on it which is what I was trying to strip with the vinegar water solution.

Yes, the floor would have to be conditioned and the finish determined for compatibility.
