Setting Tile to Base

I wish tile installers here knew that your not supposed to set tile or stone and grout up to vertical surface. It seems like every job I do lately the base is buried by tile. Transitioning a wood,laminate or other floor that needs the base on top is always a challenge to make it look right.

Just finished a laminate last week with the base buried in tile. So since it is old ugly base anyway, she is having me back soon to replace all the base in the house to match her new base in the laminate room. Love it.

Or even worse, when a full tile is 1 1/2" from the wall, so they fill it with grout.

Agree with you Kman, its very hard to fit full tile. Difficult to achieve.
