Wish the customer would call first

Got a call today from a good customer. He cut a seam apart in a carpet I installed last December, so he could work on the floor. Now he wants me to fix it. I wish he would have called and let me take it apart. It was power stretched as always. I have my doubts that I can trim it, seam it back and stretch it back in.
