Went to the post office to pick up mail and then popped in to Walmart to get stuff Mom requested.
Got in the truck and checked the temperature.
It actually went up to 108 while I was driving, but I couldn't take a picture for obvious reasons.
Did major cleanup in the kitchen. The DE did help a little with the roaches in the drawers but they are still running amok.
I made the mistake of opening my brother's rice cooker. He last cooked in it over a month ago and didn't remove the leftovers. There was some violet sludge with maggots swimming in it and dead maggots all over the underside of the lid, inside the rubber seal, & just all over. It was nasty. I cleaned it while I was making yellow rice in the pressure cooker.
I still have a lot to clean in the kitchen but my back is hurting so I needed a break.

The homeowner likes it enough but literally looked me in the eye and said “this is probably the most expensive template in history”. Then said she doesn’t love the small binding & will probably have me do it again next year with a wide binding.

Her interior designer & herself wanted it this small. But to be fair, their contractor has been here almost 3 years. They’ve redone projects multiple times. These people have you do something then pay you to demo/redo it all the time. Money clearly isn’t an object with them?

As long as you’re getting paid, right. At least next year you can use the current material as a template for the new runner.
Had a customer who had the brick around her fireplace changed twice and the 20+ windows in her great room changed three times in a new house because she would change her mind. Up until I installed the carpet, there was one set of steps that I did not know whether they were to get carpet or the wood was to be finished. She had me carpet over the sewer hole in one bathroom so her three year old would not play in the stool. My idea of just locking that door was not good enough for her. She was a school teacher. Her husband was a psychologist. Had a barrage of measures to do for the store and got back to my kitchen floor with a vinyl planks. I didn't want to get the planks started a few feet out into the room and then leave for a week.
Yep and afterwards some more pistachio ice cream. That's some good stuff. So was the chicken, the seasoned potatoes and everything else.

I only worked on one job like that. We did a bunch of buildings up on a hilltop that were being done over a few year period so as we came to complete the flooring in a building they would be starting another and halfways done with others. So talking to the other trades I heard strories and saw some deals where they'd build something, tear it down and redo it with a different design or style or material.............they had money to burn so I heard. …… When the job is completed, both home owners and designers critique the 
out of it. Once life begins again, they usually calm down and accept it. NICE WORK MAN ! Looks great ! ( staple method everywhere And what pad did you install ?

Got a real fussy customer this weekend in Hershey Pa. My daughter and son in-law Pulled out all the stops using cortex to protect the paint job done by my daughter 
Notice the old urethane pad has a silver finish and the carpet with a jute backing. Both kept spills and dog accidents from reaching the particle board subfloor

....so your implying that he finally got around to having concrete installed in his old carport?
I will never understand how people change their minds so many times on things once the process is started. I'm the type of person that will just live with it unless its something really done wrong. If I ask for something to be done a certain way I'm keeping it that way. But then, I don't have a ton of $$ to spend on stuff being redone.

I had one who put a different color of carpet every room and they had to be the exact shade she wanted. She wanted snow white in her bedroom and I could not find any. A few months later I got a white sample. She loved it. A month after I put the white in her bedroom, she sold the house. People are nuts.
Every time someone who works retail complains about dealing with the public. I remind them, "I worked with the public in THEIR house!"
I no longer have the patience to deal with the public. I used to, but not anymore.
Been setting alarms so I take my vitamins & allergy meds at the same time every morning (or close to it) and take my nighttime meds at the same time. Doctor said it doesn't matter if I eat close to taking the thyroid meds so long as I consistently take them around the same time. I do sometimes sleep through the alarms.
Friend is supposed to come over later today to help with electrical and I might rope him in to checking under the sink to see if there is a leak. There is a mystery wet spot on the floor that won't go away. It's a couple feet from the sink. Need to take a picture later.

Friend ended up being sick. He had a CT scan on his kidneys & is waiting for results.
Today Mom was supposed to get a mammogram and bone density test, but they called this morning to cancel. The tech who does the tests called in sick.
So I rested.
Trying to figure out why the AC isn't cooling properly. Possibly some holes in ducts or something up in the attic. Was 106 out today.
I looked out the window and saw my older cow lying on the ground bloated and I couldn't see any movement or breathing. I called out to her and she didn't move. Her daughter was sitting near her. I rushed out and called out, she still didn't move, got up to her and put my hands on her and she woke up. Sat up and I started petting her. I grabbed a bucket and brought over some water and poured a little on her and tried to get her to drink. She stood up and looked confused & groggy. I think she may have passed out. But she wasn't far from the waterer. I petted her for a bit and then went back inside.
I'll have to get her some feed again soon.
