Since the other thread is getting off topic I thought I would start a new one on deadmans.

I was thinking about modifying mine sine Roland says his will not flip, mine will. I guess if it is two feet wide it may not flip but it's been my experience that they also tend to slide in some carpets.

So perhaps something wheely bars that dragsters have would help. I have a design in mind.

I've always been a little hesitant to use a dead man. Had one slide and pull tuffs once.

Ok here is one of my deadmen, this is the one I can use when working alone.
If you notice it is two pcs, with a board on top " but not all the way across the top " for some reason when stretching the force from the front board pushes against the top board and the with the small gap it then force's the back board harder into the carpet. All I need to do is put my tool box on the top and no lift at all.
