Berber seam looks pretty good for a homeowner....... napping shears would make that look pretty good I'd bet.
I've been asked to fix a seam and the nap is 2" long. Seam looks as bad as the first one you showed and the back of the carpet looks like woven........ and done by an installer.

They don't travel this far west........ never seen one anyway. They wear suits and badges, right? Around here, installers just wear sleeves. (tattoos)Probably CFI......

No CFI installers in my area either.
I suppose they are mostly east coast? I don't have a clue as to how may schools there are or where they are.............. or how long it takes or how much it costs. I'm CFIlliterate.

School is in Texas. There are a lot of installers out west.
