HO bought an iron and made his own seams.

Berber seam looks pretty good for a homeowner....... napping shears would make that look pretty good I'd bet.
I've been asked to fix a seam and the nap is 2" long. Seam looks as bad as the first one you showed and the back of the carpet looks like woven........ and done by an installer. :eek:

I suppose they are mostly east coast? I don't have a clue as to how may schools there are or where they are.............. or how long it takes or how much it costs. I'm CFIlliterate.
