That was a nice day !

Did you see the Sunday morning program this week ? They did a story on a Birder, I forgot his name.
That young man who recently died? If that's who it was, his name was Carson Hughes he was only 18. He was from Southern Indiana (Near Evansville). He was a heck of a good photographer. I knew him from some of the Facebook photo groups for Indiana birding. He went to a state park near Evansville to take photos and he used to shoot from a Kayak on the lake a lot. Apparently, he had his camera set up and was launching the Kayak and loading it and fell in and drowned. The gear many of us use can be quite heavy. I carry between 35 and 50lbs of gear with my backpack, so you can image having that kind of weight around your neck and going in the water. It was terribly tragic, as he was just getting ready to graduate from H.S. There were several hundred birders who went to the area to help search, as they didn't find him for a couple of days. I'm hearing rumbling in the groups that National Geographic is possibly going to do a little biography about him. There's a lot of people here in Indiana who knew him, and they are posting and reposting a bunch of his work at his family's request. They are also talking about a possible show of some type with his photography. So sad to lose such a talented young man.
