I freaking LOVE Vegas! Haven’t been in a few years (kids throw a wrench in that gear) but I’m dying to get back.

We usually stay at the Luxor but I love going to old Vegas (Fremont st). I love the shady/sketchy people over there. Lol

....yes, habitat again. Habitat is becoming a habit.
I bought a few of these over the years and they tend to loosen up as you use them because...... quality.
I looked this one up and all the sources listed it as "vintage"
Guessing '60s or '70s. It's worth the $6. Hardley ever used.
Most shafts are one piece with long cuts in them instead of solid with these dual grippy phalanges.
I think I'll return my old ones to Habitat to annoy some unexpected bargain hunter. 😁

We stayed at the Luxor this time. The elevators and their sideways shenanigans are something else.

We were walking into the hotel and my wife takes a whiff and says this smell is proven to make you spend more money. I take a whiff and said it smells like hookers and donuts. Smells good. Lol. I’d buy a hookers and donuts scented candle.

I wouldn't know what a hooker smells like.
Oh, I wish there was a way I could dig up a vidjeo clip I saw. You could smell it through your phone. 😁
She was one POd hooker cleaning the nether regions with her sweatshirt while cussing up a storm.. looks like it was in a park or something as someone caught her on a cell phone.
People shouldn't live like animals.
The video was absolutely hilarious but in reality,it was also pretty sad.
I'm glad I got brought up installing carpet instead of laying shag for an income. The money isn't as good but, I have a few morals to uphold. yea, just a few, nobody's perfect 😁

Anyone have a battery fail early?
There used to be 4 and 6 year batteries, but nowadays 36 months is most common.
Two and a half years into a 3-year battery, my battery was losing power and the engine was cranking slowly in the morning.
That bothered me, so I researched a lot and bought a few things.
The battery was having a hard time cranking so I bought a new battery and installed it for a month or so.
About the same time, I bought an electronic battery tester, and then spent another 50 or 60 bucks on a battery "desulfator"
This magical electronic tool is supposed to make your batteries last forever. 😁
Once again, you have to do research on this sort of thing. Sulphates build up on the lead plates in a cars battery.
Desulphators introduce controlled frequency pulse that electronically knocks off the sulfates that were deposited onto the lead plates and put them back into suspension where they are supposed to reside.
In a nutshell, I had a battery that was going to die 6 months early. I bought this crazy electronic device to desulfate the battery and revive it.
It did. It works.
My three year battery didn't die 6 months early. It's still alive now and working better than it was a year ago.
I should have bought this tool instead of a new battery.
It's not magic, it's just simple chemistry.

Speaking of batteries, why is it that 9v batteries in smoke alarms always send a low battery warning at 2am? Then, you're half asleep, standing in the hallway, wondering which alarm needs new batteries, waiting for the quick chirp. Boy, is that irritating!
Oh good! I thought it was just me… yes, it’s always 2:00AM!?!?!?!

Now I have the 10 year ones… we’ll see

Everything seemed to go at once last week. The ceiling fan, on a dimmer switch was strobe-lighting and otherwise freaking out. So I pulled that down and bought a replacement. When I tested the old unit with new bulbs it worked fine but the dimmer was working oddly. Hell, I can live without the dimmer so I put that unit back up and returned the new.

That's about when the batteries from the smoke detectors started chirping and just like you say------even with the green and red flashing-------you can't easily figure which one is out, if any. So I played that replacement and reset game with all 4 units. All of the batteries tested good. So none of it made any sense. Put it all back up, reset the system and it hasn't chirped since.

Fridge water filter dispenser was also on the fritz for about 3 months. I replaced the filter and that didn't do anything. Finally I rolled the fridge out and pulled the water lines up off the floor, jiggled them around and straightened them out. That was a winner.

A bunch of other piddly things like that all went off at once. This is when I'm glad to be retired. It was really horrible dealing with that kind of crap when I was already overworked and overstressed.

Check the dates... Smoke detectors will also chirp when they get old, usually around 8 years...

And I do believe a dimmer switch on a ceiling fan is a no no... Lights yes, fan no.

And do more things start going wrong when you're retired? Or do ya just start noticing more things BECAUSE you're retired? LOL

Hope you’re having a good time. Go over to Fremont st and get one of those giant margaritas and ride the zip line after. Good times man!
Just be careful over there. It’s literally filled with shady/sketchy people looking for a mark. My buddy got scammed out of a C note from a hustler last time I went. Lol. He was pissed. I warned him before we went. Did my part!
