Floorist, it's really a tragedy that the cops can get away with that. There are a lot of good cops out there but these bad cops are making people fear/distrust most cops.

As for the Steele Dossier: It was originally commissioned by Republicans as part of opposition research. Steele himself said he thought that it was about 70% accurate & a lot of it has already been corroborated. Trump already hated McCain long before the situation with the Steele Dossier & the ACA vote. You can even see him trash-talking POWs & John McCain (in videos) prior to running for president. His ire at McCain came from decades ago when there was some sort of system for the government to guarantee loans on housing for low income people. Trump tried to apply for the loan guarantee on a luxury apartment. McCain rejected it & wrote a long letter explaining why this program was meant to help poor people from losing their homes & was never intended to help wealthy people to be free of debt if they defaulted on loans for luxury apartments. Trump never forgave him for it.

I was talking to someone in Australia who gets free medical and income tax was only about 25%. With combined state & federal taxes, people where I live pay more than 30% income tax & we still have sales tax on top of that. We even have internet tax (but it's called a "fee" bc taxing internet is illegal). Medical expenses are horrid here & people will be made to wait for hours even for serious issues/injuries- and that is if they even get treatment. There are people who still get turned away bc they can't afford to pay.

In Australia the people are Means Tested meaning if you own two or more houses, money in the bank etc you do not get as much Government help money wise
In New Zealand one can be a multi millionaire and still get the Super payment, Everybody over 65. I get about NZ$310, with that amount already taxed, a week. People on low incomes can apply for a council rates discounts, Rent top ups etc along with other discounts
Our new Govt wants to bring in a Capital Gains Tax of which most NZers do not want. A lot of rental houses are going to be sold to avoid this could be new tax which then creates more of a problem for the people who can't afford to buy a house. In July any rental house must have underfloor insulation along with an electric heater which will heat up the house to a certain temp These houses have been okay for 50 odd years as is. All it is going to do is lift the rent up Anybody want to buy a house at Greenhithe Auckland? Quarter acre section with an old house on it Getting close to a million

What's the AG got to do with Mueller's $25 million dollar witch hunt? Trump says go ahead and release whatever's in it.

Mueller said no further indictments. .........no collusion. That was what the witch hunt was for. Along the way, they took every road in the county looking for corruption unrelated to Trump colluding with the Russians. It should have ended with a search for Trump colluding with the Russians. The Manifort thing was just a good thing that happened along the way. The IRS should have dealt with that, not the Russian/Trump witch hunt. You do know that Manifort and his shady money issues have absolutely nothing to do with Trump......... right? ..............and they have nothing to do with collusion with the Ruskies, right? :D

How many were Americans and what are their crimes relating to Trump and collusion? Those indictments have nothing to do with Trump colluding with the Russians. The Mueller probe could have ended up with 3000 indictments. That has nothing to do with Trump and the witch hunt.
The only thing they gained in the mega millions witch hunt was more knowledge on the seriousness of Russians trying to influence US elections. They knew that was happening in Obama's reign................. ya think maybe Obama should have made that a major priority? I think so.

The FBI didn't inform the judge when asking for permission to investigate Trump that the Dossier was funded by Hillary's campaign..................... yet that doesn't seem to bother anyone?

When the government shakes things up with major new tax programs and home requirements like you mentioned everything goes to hell.
 
Correct everybody over 65 gets that with nothing to do with anything else
As normal someone thinks up a "new" idea they do not think about what could happen further down the line
Some smart accountant or lawyer will find a way to get around these good ideas
I saw somewhere if you buy an investment property, rental house for $200 grand sell it later for $600 grand you will pay tax on that $400 grand of 33%. You sell your flooring business which you started off with nothing 20 years ago and now is worth that $40 grand you will be paying 33% as its deemed to be a capital gain
I am talking about the people who buy one rental for their old age fund who will now be caught up with this CGTax
People who make a living by buying, doing up, then selling have always had to pay tax on that profit
I think I am correct in all this but not sure as details have not come out yet, then the Labour Govt has to be voted in. The National Party do not want this to happen
The way our Prime Minister has handled the Christchurch massacre I think people who would never vote Labour could vote for her so Labour could win the next election
 
Taxes can save you and sink you. I believe that city counsels and other government officials are made up of wealthy people and what ideas they propose will not affect them personally as far as ability to pay. They want a new park or new cast iron or bronze street lights to make the city "pretty".............. maybe a boardwalk that cost 2 million will attract 250 tourists per year. Those streetlights make the city charming at night so add another 50 tourists to the mix. Wow, 300 tourists per year at a cost of 2 million in improvements.
Less government is better government.

Just remember, politicians think " it's not real money, it is tax money".
 
Need to create a new government body. Their only function will be to investigate all sitting members of congress. The investigations will start beginning with their high school days and include any friends or acquaintances they have met in their lifetimes. That would be really helpful in order to run the government.
 
The OSC had a specific scope. Just because Mueller or his office might not bring more indictments doesn't mean that there will not be more indictments from other agencies. It also doesn't mean that all of the indictments were unsealed. We'll have to wait & see if the report is released to the public & what it determined. Right now people on both sides are only speculating.

Trump claiming he wants the report to be released is just another lie on his part. He lies about *everything*. He said he was going to release his tax returns, he said he was going to pay contractors, he said Mexico would pay for the wall, he said a whole lot of things that just were not true.

The asset forfeiture from Manafort alone covered the full costs of the investigation so the government actually got $ out of it.

For a "witch hunt" this investigation sure turned up a lot of witches. :p
